I’ve always been drawn to quiet places at the end of the day, especially when the landscape starts to disappear into blue.
I also love that slightly foggy atmosphere, when everything feels softer and more distant.
With this painting, I wanted to keep the scene simple: a small cabin by the water, surrounded by deep blues, with a warm light glowing from inside.
Soirée fraiche is about that small feeling of comfort you can find in a light shining through the darkness.
