Silent Flow is inspired by a place I return to often in the Southern French Alps, a valley I’ve come to know through years of skiing there in winter.
Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, a small stream slowly emerges through the frozen landscape. I love these quiet winter scenes, when almost everything seems still, yet the water continues to move beneath the cold.
This painting is about that contrast: the silence of the mountains, the softness of snow, and this small trace of movement finding its way through the valley.
